This policy explains what personal information W.M Carpet Cleaning Services collects when you use this website or get in touch, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We keep the amount of information we collect to what we actually need to answer your enquiry and carry out the work.

What we collect

When you fill in the quote form, call, text or email us, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode or address, and any details you give us about the cleaning work you want. We only collect what you choose to share with us.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. These only run if you accept our cookie notice, and they are covered in our Cookie Policy. We do not use advertising or social media tracking pixels.

How we use it

We use the information you give us to reply to your enquiry, provide a quote, arrange and carry out the cleaning, and keep in touch about your booking. If you become a customer, we may keep basic records of the work we have done for you and any invoices, which we are required to retain for tax purposes.

The legal bases we rely on are: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract once you book; our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running the business; and our legal obligation to keep certain financial records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information to anyone. We only share it where we have to in order to run the business, for example with the email provider that delivers your enquiry to us (Brevo and Google), with our accountant or bookkeeper, or where the law requires it. Any provider we use is expected to keep your information secure and use it only for the service they provide to us.

How long we keep it

If you enquire but do not go ahead, we keep your enquiry for a short period and then delete it. If you become a customer, we keep your records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet our legal and tax obligations, which is normally up to six years for financial records.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted where there is no reason for us to keep it, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would ask that you contact us first so we can try to put things right.

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. The website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, and the contact form is protected against spam and abuse. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information as far as we reasonably can.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised date at the top.
